Problem

Resolving 'No such file or directory' errors while backing up during MCF 8.0 Hot Fix installations

Symptom

During MCF 8.0 HF installation, all directories and files are copied from INSTALL_DIR to the back up directory specified. Error messages like 'No such file or directory' are seen when the files are being copied.

Error Message

[echo] Backing-up the existing Applications files before installing the hot fix...

[copy] Copying 86421 files to /u01/app/sd/cm/om/mev02/bkp_mcf_before_HF39

BUILD FAILED

/u01/app/sd/cm/om/vendor/sterling/mcf/8.0/HF39/HFInstaller/bin/HFInstall.xml:293 : Failed to copy /u01/app/om/mev02/mcf/tmp/buildyantra/war/application/wmscountresult.xml to /u01/app/sd/cm/om/mev02/bkp_mcf_before_HF39/tmp/buildyantra/war/application/wmsc ountresult.xml due to java.io.FileNotFoundException /u01/app/om/mev02/mcf/tmp/buildyantra/war/application/wmscountresult.xml (No such file or directory)

Resolving The Problem

1. The error message clearly says No such file or directory. We check if file mentioned is there in the specified path. The answer is YES.

2. Check if the file has the correct read +write +execute permissions for the login user. The answer is YES.

3. Low memory is one of the causes that triggers file not found error message when file looks fine physically. Check memory settings , if it is low, free memory.
