Error description
After applying APAR PI17022 PTF UI20851, ANALYZEPART without SYSPRINT DD causes ABENDU0999 with the following messages: - DSP0110I UNABLE TO OPEN SYSPRINT DATA SET - IHC01000E REORG# update process ended with error
Local fix
Make sure SYSPRINT DD is specified until a PTF for this APAR is available.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All clients of IMS HALDB Toolkit V3R2. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. After applying PI17022/UI20851, * * ANALYZEPART without SYSPRINT DD * * causes ABENDU0999. * * 2. ANALYZEPART and MAINTAIN functions * * can cause ABENDS0C1 or ABENDU0999 * * when the input data sets are M-V * * data sets. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** 1. APAR PI17022/PTF UI20851 has provided a new module IHCWRUPD (REORG# update process module) to communicate with DBRC by using DBRC API calls which require SYSPRINT DD. Since ANALYZEPART has been changed to call the new module, ANALYZEPART without SYSPRINT DD has come to ABEND0999 with the following messages: - DSP0110I UNABLE TO OPEN SYSPRINT DATA SET - IHC01000E REORG# update process ended with error 2. HALDB Toolkit has not checked whether input data sets are M-V data sets. Since some codes have not adequately met the M-V data sets, ANALYZEPART and MAINTAIN functions can cause ABENDS0C1 or ABENDU0999 with the following message: - IHC01000E REORG# update process ended with error
Problem conclusion
1. IHCWTDB0 has been changed not to call IHCWRUPD when ANALYZEPART command is specified. 2. IHCWANA3 and IHCWTDB1 have been changed to add the special logic for M-V data sets. ======================== = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE = ======================== IBM IMS High Availability Large Database Toolkit for z/OS V3R2 User's Guide (SC19-2403-03) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 2.
