Error description
An ABEND5C6 00940001 is occurring as the execution block has EBLTCHLD set to 00000080, indicating that it is still holding a class 25 latch. CSQQTRMN is ending and a 'close all handles' request has been issued. The request has been processed, and as class 3 account- ing is active CSQ7COLL has been invoked. It gets the latch in the WTAS, and as this is a 'close all handles' request for an IMS thread the WTAS is queued for processing by CSQ7PLRT. However, after the fix for PI05792 CSQ7PLRT no longer gets the WTAS latch. This means that it may release the WTAS (and it get reused and cleared) before CSQ7COLL attempts to release the latch. If this happens, then when CSQ7COLL does not attempt to release the WTAS latch. This results in the subsequent 5C6-00940001 ABEND issued by CSQMCPRH. ADDITIONAL SYMPTOMS : ABEND5C6 CSQ7DEAL ABEND5C6 00E50002 WHEN PE UI17012 IS APPLIED (OFFSET 658) CAN OCCUR FOR ANY TYPE OF APPLICATION. CLASS 3 ACCOUNTING NEED NOT BE ACTIVE

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere MQ for z/OS Version 7 * * Release 1 Modification 0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Abend 5C6-00940001 in CSQMCPRH occurs * * when an IMS transaction ends and class * * 3 accounting trace is enabled. * * or * * Abend 5C6-00E50002 in CSQ7DEAL occurs * * when an application ends. * * * * In either case the queue manager is * * terminated abnormally S6C6 with * * REASON=00940001 or REASON=00F30801. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** During deallocation processing for a task, the WTAS for the task is marked for deallocation processing by CSQ7PLRT under latch control. PI05792 changed the way that the WTAS was passed to CSQ7PLRT, and introduced a timing window that could allow the WTAS to be freed and reused by CSQ7PLRT before CSQ7COLL or CSQ7DEAL has freed the latch on the WTAS. This results in the latch release failing, and one of the reported abends occurring, leading to queue manager termination.
Problem conclusion
Additional serialisation has been added to CSQ7PLRT to ensure it cannot free the WTAS until CSQ7DEAL/CSQ7COLL have finished processing it. 100Y CSQ7COLL CSQ7DEAL CSQ7PLRT
