Error description
ABEND5C6-00E70032 in CSQXADPO+03BC0 occurred when starting a channel while the CHIN is being stopped due to a STOP QMGR MODE(FORCE). The problem occurred because during the channel startup some TCP/IP requests were issued which ended with a return code indicating that TCP/IP was down. As the QMGR was running within a Queue Sharing Group, we tried to register the fact that the comms was no more available and CSQXADPO tried to update the XCF/DB2 datas to indicate the change. It called CSQXCSSF which returned back with a reason code 00F5001C meaning CSQ5_DB2_UNAVAILABLE because the MSTR was already ended. This resulted in the ABEND5C6-00E70032 generated by CSQXADPO .

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere MQ for z/OS Version 7 * * Release 0 Modification 1 and Release 1 * * Modification 0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Abend S5C6-00E70032 may occur if a * * TCP/IP communications system error * * occurs while the queue manager is * * shutting down and the queue manager * * is in a Queue Sharing Group. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When an error occurs that prevents communication with the TCP/IP subsystem, the channel initiator will attempt to notify the other members of the QSG that it is no longer network-connected. The mechanism for communicating the failure relies on the queue manager. If the queue manager is also shutting down during this time then the attempt to notify others of the network failure will in itself fail. Because CSQXADPO is not expecting to receive this RC, it generates an 00E70032 abend to report the unexpected failure.
Problem conclusion
Processing has been amended to allow CSQXADPO to tolerate XCF notification failures without abending. 010Y 100Y CSQXADPO
