Problem
During Create Confirm Shipment (in one short) - Ship Mode and Carrier Type values for a shipment are blanked out
Symptom
Shipment has four carrier related attributes namely SCAC,
Carrier Service Code, Ship Mode and
Carrier Type. Even is all these four attributes are passed (or
updated through customization) while creating and confirming shipments (by
passing the flag CreateAndConfirm = Y) the values of Ship Mode and Carrier Type
will be blank.
Cause:
The columns 'ShipMode' and
'CarrierType' in the table YFS_SCAC_AND_SERVICE are de-normalized. These two
columns are populated based on the values passed in ScacAndService attribute of
the shipment. If ScacAndService is not passed for the shipment; then both Ship
Mode, Carrier Type values will be blanked as well even if they are passed.
No specific error message; just the values passed for Ship Mode and Carrier Type would be blank.
Resolving The Problem
So in order to populate these two columns Ship Mode and Carrier Type
either:
1. Pass ScacAndSerivice to the shipment during create and
confirm shipment in one short or
2. First create a shipment by
passing the values of SCAC, Carrier service code without confirming the
shipment. Then update the ship mode, carrier type values followed by
confirmShipment.
