Problem
Cognos : Advance troubleshooting for report performance issue for database type 'Oracle'
Symptom
When troubleshooting performance issues for cognos reports we refer to cogserver.log or crnserver.log along with the .ASH reports.
These reports/logs will show us only the report query.

Resolving The Problem
As an extra step modify cogdmor.ini file in crn\bin or c8\bin to include
[TRACE]
Output=d:\filename.log
Execute the report, trace
component helps us identify the queries executed against the database even
before going though the db driver.
The trace file generated identifies if
the report queries are being split or if queries other than the actual report
query is sent to the database or are they any duplicate report queries. Helps
us to eliminate the possiblities of nailing down the causes whether sterling
application or cognos or database.
