Problem

MCS Warning ConfigurationFactory No configuration found, ehcache-failsafe.xml being used Situation

Symptom

The cache is corrupted. This can be identified by a WARN message in the log that shows a problem with the ehcache-failsafe.xml.

Resolving The Problem

There are many ways to deal with a corrupt cache. Consider the situation carefully.

  1. a straightforward Tomcat restart
  2. delete the <tomcat home>/work directory contents and restart
  3. verify the ehCache.xml file is in the correct directory: <sdk home>/builds/<project>/WEB-INF/properties
  4. disable the Cache Cleanup cron job by setting the active_flag to "N" in the CMGT_CRON table then restart db and restart server
  5. a "stronger" kill -9 command
