Troubleshooting
Problem
Yantra High Availability Failover Configuration >RAC cluster active/active JDBC Type IV thin client driver vs. OCI Type II - ORA-25408
Symptom
PART: Platform 5.x
PRODUCT: Platform framework
DATABASE: Oracle
9i
Does Yantra have documentation on Failover configuration ?
Does
this talk about OCI setup ?
We are using Oracle 9.2.0.4, RAC guard, TAF,
Solaris 8 and Sun Cluster 3.1.
ALL database accesses that occur when one
node fails result in the error ORA-25408 - can not safely replay call.
I
have checked all the known problems with Oracle on this and none apply.
Any
failover outside of Yantra is perfect.
The Yantra documents STATE that 5.X
SP2 is RAC compliant. To use RAC Oracle uses OCI. If Yantra is compliant
shouldnt it also use OCI.
Cause
Resolving The Problem
Response
Yantra has already tested 5x application on an Oracle 9i RAC in an
active/active clustured environment.
This configuration allowed the app to
failover in the event of a single Oracle instance/node failure.
The
configuration uses Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) Type IV Thin driver as
opposed to Type II OCI drivers.
And also needs related changes to the JDBC
connect string, the TCP timeout settings and the Weblogic Connection
Pool.
Yantra Support can provide detailed documentation for this, on
Request.
