How does one stop the Health Monitor process? Is there a stopHealthMonitor.sh script?

Question & Answer

Question

How does one stop the Health Monitor process? Is there a stopHealthMonitor.sh script?

Answer

One starts the Health Monitor process in the following manner:
<INSTALL_DIR>/bin/startHealthMonitor.sh.
There is no script provided to stop the Health Monitor process e.g. stopHealthMonitor.sh.
One can stop the Health Monitor process from the System Management Console (SMC).
Sterling, also, does not advise one to kill any agent/integration server using “kill -9” (via a cron job or the command prompt). This leaves behind stale entries in the YFS_HEARTBEAT table.
The recommendation is to use the “Shutdown Server” option provided in the SMC, to stop the Health Monitor process.
