Inventory check for Purchase Orders, Transfer Orders and Sales Order

When the inventory check will happen for PPO/PTO?
 
The inventory validation will happen in PTO/PPO is when the transaction between created status to reserved status.  
 
After the PTO moved to reserved status then it won’t check inventory during ‘schedule’ and ‘release’.
 
After the PTO/PPO is moved to reserved status then scheduling and releasing will not check inventory even if we pass the checkInventory =”Y” in the input xml of ScheduleOrder and ReleaseOrder. This is the designed behavior of our product.
 
 
1)       Created the chained order using createChainedOrder API.
2)       Decrement the inventory availability at ShipNode2 to 0.
3)       Schedule the transfer order ---Status of TO line --Scheduled Schedule will ‘schedule’ the line as the transfer line is ‘Reserved’
4)      Release the transfer order -- Status of TO line is Released
 
This is designed behavior of the product even if there is no inventory at the node.
 
When the inventory check will happen for Sales order?
 
In sales order The inventory check will happen during scheduling and releasing. The order will get backordered if there is no inventory.
The order will get cancelled if ‘cancel on inventory shortage” is checked in the scheduling rules.
