Can one purge the YFS_INVENTORY_ITEM table?

1) Can one purge YFS_INVENTORY_ITEM
table?
At present, there is no purge for
YFS_INVENTORY_ITEM table, but there is an enhancement logged which is under the
purview of Product management team .
Sterling plans to fix this enhancement in a future version.
2) What is the impact of the presence of stale entries in the
YFS_INVENTORY_ITEM table that purging the items creates?
The presence of the stale entries in the
YFS_INVENTORY_ITEM table does not allow one to create orders and do inventory
adjustments, if one checks the flags - “ValidateItem”,
“Validate Item during Inventory Adjustments” in
DOM->orderValidation and in GIV->otherRules.
Enabling the flag “Validate item” in DOM ->DocumentSpecific->salesOrder/template/To/->OrderValidation, does not allow creation of an order on Invalid items.
Enabling the flag, “Validate Item during Inventory Adjustments” in GIV->Inventory Rules->Other rules does not allow one to do inventory adjustments on Invalid items.
Enabling the flag “Validate item” in DOM ->DocumentSpecific->salesOrder/template/To/->OrderValidation, does not allow creation of an order on Invalid items.
Enabling the flag, “Validate Item during Inventory Adjustments” in GIV->Inventory Rules->Other rules does not allow one to do inventory adjustments on Invalid items.
Hence, there is no
harm in the presence of stale entries in YFS_INVENTORY_ITEM table.
