Question
How do you determine whether a command sent to a remote instance of IBM Rational RhapsodyCL in socket mode has executed?
Cause
When you are not running RhapsodyCL in interactive mode and issue commands in socket mode, you get a different behavior. By default, you do not get feedback about the result of the previous operation.
Answer
Issue the command getcommandresult to RhapsodyCL to retrieve the status of the last command that was executed.
Notes
- The result is a simple return code that you can use to determine whether the command succeeded.
- You see the result in the console of the remote computer that runs RhapsodyCL in socket mode. Therefore, you must forward the return codes to the computer that issued the commands to receive and act upon the return codes.
