Problem
When archiving a particular IBM Rational DOORS module or a project, following error message is displayed: "Failed to lock archive item (/
Symptom
Archive does not work and an error message will be displayed.
Cause
You may receive the "Failed to lock archive item" error message when a particular Rational DOORS module or modules in a Rational DOORS project is locked.
Resolving The Problem
To overcome this situation
- Log in to Rational DOORS as an Administrator
- Click on "Tools" -> "Manage Locks" and unlock any of the locked modules.
Note: Please ensure that none of the users are using the module while unlocking it. - Now, you can successfully archive the Rational DOORS project and module.
