Symptom
When using the ClearCase integration with Visual Studio 2010, glyphs indicating the source control state for ASP.Net Web Site projects are not displayed in Solution Explorer.
This issue is observed only with ASP.Net Web Site projects when using the Visual Studio 2010 integration.
Cause
This issue has been identified as a defect with the Web Site project system in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.
Resolving The Problem
The defect with Microsoft WebSite project has been fixed in Visual Studio 2010 SP1.
Visual Studio 2010 SP1 is supported from ClearCase 7.1.1.6 and 7.1.2.3 onwards.
Workaround if Visual Studio 2010 SP1 is not installed:
The source control state of the files can be identified with the help of other tool windows.
- Use the Pending Checkins tool window to list the items that are checked-out in the current Solution.
- Use the ClearCase search tool window to list view-private items, checked-out items, or both.
- With the context menu options enabled you can right-click on an item in the Solution Explorer and it will provide an indication of the current source control state of the item.
