Troubleshooting
Problem
When using Planning Analytics for Excel, user docks/undocks their laptop. By doing this, this triggers the PA for Excel screen to change font size (and scaling) which makes it unreadable.
Symptom
Example:
In one real-life example:
1. User starts the laptop in a docking station
2. User does not launch any applications
3. User removes the computer from the docking station.
4. Launch Excel and log in to IBM@Planning Analytics
5. Open av view in explorer mode.
=> The menus (on the top and to the right) becomes small and double.

6. After making some selections in the top menu, either:
(a) the selection options disappears completely
(b) or they become smaller:
Cause
Limitation of Planning Analytics for Excel, when the client device (for example Windows 10 laptop) is configured with the setting 'Change the size of text, apps, and other items' NOT set to 100%:
For example, in one real-life case it (see printscreens above) it was set to 200%.
Resolving The Problem
Fix:
Change the setting 'Change the size of text, apps, and other items' to be 100%.
Steps:
The steps vary depending on the operating system. The following is based on Windows 10:
1. On the client device, right-click on the 'Start' icon, and choose: Run
2. Type in: dpiscaling
3. Click OK
4. Inside the section 'Scale and layout' change the value of 'Change the size of text, apps, and other items' to: 100%
5. Click OK
6. Test.
Workarounds
Do not change the screen settings during the use of Planning Analytics for Excel.
- For example, do not dock/undock your laptop mid-way through using the software.
