Why are the options 'Run' and 'Save As' grayed out on the IBM Rational DOORS DXL – Interaction screen?

Answer

By default, the Run and Save As options will be grayed out on the IBM Rational DOORS DXL – Interaction screen if the Edit DXL option is not enabled for the user.

To enable the Edit DXL option, apply the following steps:

  1. Login to Rational DOORS as Administrator

  2. Click on Manage users and groups

  3. Select the username and click on Edit

  4. Under the General Tab, place check mark for Edit DXL

  5. Click on OK and exit the window

  6. You will have the options Run and Save As enabled on the IBM Rational DOORS DXL – Interaction screen.

Note: If the Edit DXL option is not present under the Edit user, then this has to be enabled from the Rational DOORS Database Properties. For this, please check the option Only users with Edit DXL power may edit and run DXL, which is under the Rational DOORS Database Properties.
