Abstract
Provides a non-SQL based approach to retrieving the library name for an SQL schema.

You are in: IBM i Technology Updates > Db2 for i - Technology Updates > Db2 for i Functional Enhancements > Retrieve Short Name support for long schema name (QDBRTVSN)
To retrieve the library name, specify the SQL schema name for the input long object name and blank for the input library name.
The first ten bytes of the output qualified object name will contain the short library name and the second ten bytes will be QSYS.
Note: The SQL based approach is to query the QSYS2/SYSSCHEMAS catalog or invoke the QSYS2.OBJECT_STATISTICS UDTF.
