Traditional views are based upon a query where the object references, and therefore also the behavior, is locked in when the view is created. SQL views have had read-only flexibility when the WHERE clause referenced Db2 built-in global variables or Db2 global variables.
With the latest Db2 PTF Group, SQL views with a WHERE clause that references built-in global variables or Db2 global variables are eligible to be insertable, updateable, and deletable.
