BRM1817 during BRMS Transfer operation

BRMS PTF's SI65888, SI66285 and SI66286 have issues with locking objects after the control group is finished, preventing the FSFC Toolkit from saving and transferring the BRMS data. The following symptoms are evident of this problem on the target LPAR, when ENDFSFLASH is issued:

In viewlog (/QIBM/Qzrdhasm/qzrdhasm.log) or after an upload to the controller (/QIBM/Qzrdhasm/fsfc/<config name>/trg.log):

There are several ways to resolve this:

• Don't install the BRMS December 2017 PTFs - SI65888 (7.1), SI66285 (7.2), SI66286(7.3)
• Install the BRMS March 2018 PTFs when they become available
• Implement a workaround:
  Update the toolkit to at least the 4.3 2/1/2018 build date
  Use the FSFC Toolkit exit program QZRDIAFFEX. Insert the following code at the *TGTBRMSAV exit and perform another Flashcopy:

  DLTOVR FILE(*ALL) LVL(*JOB)
