Maximo Tips and Tricks, Stock Categories.
Body
The default stock category set in the organization application is the category that then carries over the PR/PO when you add an item to the PR/PO Lines.
To help identify your items better and the money spent on stocked, non stocked or special order items you can now use the stock category as a way of tracking. First We will want to start by updating the domain (CATEGORY) with your needed synonym values:

For this item we are adding we want to add it as a NS item, so we create the item and from the select action menu we chose Item/Organization details. For the Organization being used press the select value next to the Stock Category field and you will see the value added to the domain earlier:
Select the value as needed, and now head over to create a new PR/PO, add the item to the record:
You now have one more way of tracking your inventory using the stock category.
