Abstract
Is it possible to store Anywhere attachments on SDCARD ?
Body
Recently a customer inquired whether he can set the SD card as the path to store Attachments, rather than the system path. The customer was using a Android Mobile device and had followed the IBM Knowledge Center documentation at:
Maximo Anywhere -> Maximo Anywhere 7.5.2 -> Configuring Maximo Anywhere -> Attachments properties
http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSPJLC_7.5.2/com.ibm.si.mpl.doc_7.5.2/configure/r_attachments_download.html
There was no information to suggest this was not possible so the customer proceeded updating his worklight.properties file with the changes. He made an update on the property: si.attachment.basedirectory so that he can change the attachment Anywhere base directory (ie root is always file:///storage/emulated/0) to target the mobile sdcard.
Various combinations listed below were attempted:
/mnt/sdcard1
/storage/extSdCard
/storage/sdcard1
/sdcard1/Anywhere
The results always ended with the directory getting created under the internal memory storage ,(ie : /storage/sdcard0/storage/sdcard1/Anywhere,) not on the external sdcard
Development confirmed this is an enhancement request as the product is currently not set to store to an sd card.
If you like to see this functionality included in a future release, please vote on the RFE at:
