This document lists Skill badges that can be earned by taking a class from IBM.

Welcome to the IBM Technical Training badges landing page.

At IBM, we feel it is important to recognize the commitment our badge earners have made to increase their knowledge or enhance their skills. Each badge has its own description where you can find out what the badge represents, how the badge is earned, and what the next steps are.

Who is eligible for IBM Technical Training badges?

WorldAnyone who fulfills the requirements for a badge can earn an IBM Technical Training badge. This includes internal IBMers, clients, and business partners. 

For badges issued after completing a Badge Quiz associated with an IBM web-based training or self-paced virtual class, please expect a turnaround time of up to 24 hours to be notified about your new badge. For badges issued after live virtual classes, please expect a turnaround time of up to 10-15 business days after you complete the requirements to be notified about your new badge.

IBM Technical Training badges for Clients, Business Partners, and IBMers

These badges are available from IBM Systems Client Technical Training. The requirements for each badge will depend on the type of badge: skills, knowledge, proficiency, etc. For more information about a badge, click on the badge title to get the badge landing page. To help build your knowledge and skills, you should consider attending an instructor led or self paced class. To see the IBM Systems Client Technical Training portfolio of courses, please go to the IBM Skills Gateway. Within this website, you will find the courses that are scheduled and delivered by our Global Training Providers (GTPs).

 
Available badges
 

                           Power AIX User Essentials
This badge earner can perform everyday tasks using the AIX operating system. The recipient can manage files and directories, write simple shell scripts, use the vi editor, execute commands, manage processes, and customize the working environment. The badge earner can also use common utilities including the supported graphical user interfaces, AIX Windows, and the Common Desktop Environment. The key requirement for this badge is the successful completion of the 
AIX Basics (AN10DG) SVPC course. 

IBM z/OS Boot CampIBM z/OS Bootcamp
This badge earner can identify the functionality of the hardware and software mainframe environment. The recipient has successfully demonstrated the process of accessing and utilizing TSO (Time Sharing Option) to manage data sets and create JCL to run jobs and utilities in a z/OS and ISHELL environment. The key requirement for this badge is the successful completion of the IBM-delivered invitation-only IBM z/OS Bootcamp (ESZ0G) including verification by the instructor that all 16 course lab exercises have been successfully completed.
