Collection Services Collections
For Collection Services, General Health Indicators, and most Database perspectives, you need to have the Collection Services *CSFILE database files are available to view the collected performance data.
- *CSMGTCOL binary objects are the binary collection objects used by Performance Collection Tools to put the data as it is acquired by the probe functions.
- *CSFILE database files are required for viewing performance data with Performance Data Investigator
These need to be created with the setting "Create database files during collection" or manually by Create Data.
For automatic generation, go to Performance-> Configure Collection Services or use the Search Task in IBM Navigator for i:
Configure Collection Services
Set the library to where you want the collections. Default is QPFRDATA.
On the General tab, select this option to "Create database files during collection".
This indicates that the *CSFILE database file members will be generated for the days collection while the collection is active.
Collection Services Status
Verify that CS is running by checking the status:
Manage Collections
You can find out what collections are available from the Manage Collections table. By filtering for "QPFRDATA" you can see which "File Based Collections" are in library QPFRDATA:
Rebuild Collection Table
If the Collections table is out of sync by copying collections or restoring without the CS specific commands (see Restore Performance Collections), you will need to Rebuild the Collection Table to get it synchronized so that the actually collections on the system are reflected in the table.
