Steps

I have always found it odd that IBM markets the Hardware = POWER a lot and very little marketing on the Operating System = AIX.
Personally, I have more good feelings and positive vibes for AIX operating system because I log in to every day and use it for hours than I do for the POWER hardware running it.
I very rarely go to the machine room and hug the machine!
  • Does anyone else feel this way or am I sadly alone?
  • Put it another way would you spend two Dollar Euro Pounds (all increasingly worth about the same) on a AIX pin badge, AIX sticker, AIX mug or would prefer the same items but with just the POWER logo?
  • Or do I need psychiatric help ... cards of a cheerful nature are welcome.
If IBM offered AIX logo pin badge, AIX stickers, AIX mug at a reasonable cost - would you buy one?
Would you fill in a 5 minute questionnaire to help IBM work out which parts of AIX you actually use a lot and suggest any AIX improvements, if we offered a free sticker in the post?
I ask this as I often get asked questions like: What percentage of customers run Workload Partition? To which the answer is IBM does not know because it is free with AIX - no one tell IBM when they start using these features.  Same goes for other stuff like Shared Storage Pools, aixpert command, LPM, Roll Based Access Control and 30 others.
No promises at the moment - just testing the water.
This post was from May 2012 and had 24257 people read it from DeveloperWorks.
The result was the AIX Best Bits voting and awards - see other articles.
There are some AIX stickers and AIX badges floating round at the technical universities (TechU) but many people can't attend them but no mugs.
Please email me with a email title of "I would like to buy an AIX sticker/badge/mug" - if there is enough interest, we could get this idea floated.
