Abstract
Business Transaction Intelligence (BTI): Check Watson Query return message after a search.
Body
One of the most common things performed in BTI are basic searches. Watson interprets your requests and returns a brief comment about how it interpreted your request, and then provides the details of the search. But the results are not always what you expect to get. It is important to check the return message directly beneath your query. If you have entered a query like this:
show me all 850
then the results are pretty concrete:
I found 24 results for anything of type 850.
If this isn't what you're looking for, try searching another way.
Same with this:
Show me all 850 for May
I found 23 results for anything of type 850 from 2018-05-01 to 2018-05-31.
If this isn't what you're looking for, try searching another way.
While something like this:
show me cancellations
returns:
I found 20 results for anything of type 855 or 876.
If this isn't what you're looking for, try searching another way.
Will show results that may depend on how you cancelled an order (either by using another transaction or putting through an order change that simply zeros out the count). Sometimes the results are obvious:
show me cancelled orders
0 results found for MyCompany
Other times you may not know unless you know what procedures are use to cancel out the orders or any other procedures laid out in your particular EDI Specification Documents that you have negotiated with your trading partner.
Recommendation: Always check the return messages after a search query.
