Why Does IBM Ask For Your Dump_Info?

Does it seem like just about every time you open a PMR with IBM asks for the output from the dump_info command? If you look at the output from this command you'll begin to understand why.

Operating System

It lists the operating system on which IBM Sterling B2B Integrator is running:

Software Version

Along with the exact version of the IBM Sterling B2B Integrator product that is installed:

Database 

It lists the precise version of the database and JDBC driver that's in use:

Additional Information

It also lists security provider information, the java classpath and dynamic classpath amongst other information that is useful in determining, for example, if you're running into a known issue. Or maybe the issue might be with a hotfix you're running. Maybe next time you open a PMR, you'll include this as a point of reference for the analyst and just in case you've forgotten how to run this command here's a refresher:

On Windows

Using the ID under which IBM Sterling B2B Integrator executes, bring up a command prompt. Change to the "bin" subdirectory under IBM Sterling B2B Integrator installation directory. The run dump_info.cmd > dump_info.txt for example:

cd c:\IBM\SI\bin

dump_info.cmd > dump_info.txt

Then upload the dump_info.txt file to the PMR.

On Unix/iSeries

Using the ID under which IBM Sterling B2B Integrator executes, bring up a command prompt (for iSeries, qshell out to a command line). Change to the "bin" subdirectory under IBM Sterling B2B Integrator installation directory.

cd /opt/apps/IBM/SI/bin

./dump_info.sh > dump_info.txt

Notice, there is a ./ (period then the '/') preceding the command. Then upload the dump_info.txt file to the PMR.
