Abstract
Uninstalling IIM (IBM Installation Manager ) without touching/uninstalling SI (Sterling Integrator)
Body
In this Blog post I am mentioning about How uninstalling IIM (IBM Installation Manager) without touching/uninstalling SI/SFG.
IBM Installation Manager will not be uninstalled until uninstalling the products installed by IIM(IBM Installation Manager). If the need is to not touch the products installed by the IIM and uninstall IIM then we need to clear/comment the profiles of the installed products in the installed registry.
The below two xml files which are related to installation history, are available in the location
Linux : /user_home_directory/var/ibm/InstallationManager
Windows : C:\ProgramData\IBM\Installation Manager
1. installed.xml
2. installRegistry.xml
Open installed.xml and search for "<location id='Sterling Integrator' kind='product' " and comment this total location tag.
Open installRegistry.xml and search for " <profile id='Sterling Integrator' kind='product'> " and comment this profile tag.
In the above we are commenting the installed products history of the IIM(IBM Installation Manager).
After completion of the above , try unstall using the unistallc command in Linux / run uninstall.exe which is available in unistall folder for Windows .
Please check the below link for more information on un-installation process after completion of the above.
