IBM i Integrated Server Support is enhanced to provide support for iSCSI software initiators on Windows Server 2008 servers. This support allows Windows Server 2008 servers to use a standard Ethernet NIC as the iSCSI initiator when connecting to IBM i.

See the IBM i iSCSI Solution Guide for Ethernet NICs that are supported as software initiators and server models that are supported with software initiators.
