RPG Cafe: Two articles about Open Access
A couple of articles about using Open Access with database IO
I'm always pleased to see articles about Open Access, and especially articles that show how Open Access can be used for more than modernizing a user interface (WORKSTN files). Here are two articles about Open Access being used for SQL database access (DISK files).
- Here's an article by Daniel Cruikshank of IBM about using Open Access to take advantage of programming techniques only available via SQL programming, but coding with RPG I/O opcodes. Decoupling RPG database IO using Rational OpenAccess: RPG Edition
- Here's an article in the RJS blog about RJS Software Systems adopting Open Access to simplify access to remote databases. RJS Adopts OAR to Simplify Remote Database Access
