WebGUI 8.1 - How to change ping tool to be opened in new browser window instead of a new tab?

Answer

WebGUI is dependent on the browser settings in regards with this situation.

For example, in Firefox, you can try the following:

  • open a new tab and for the URL enter the following: about:config
  • search for this property: browser.link.open_newwindow
  • double click on it and change from 3 (which is the default value) to 2
  • click OK, refresh your page and test your tools again.

If you will test with the default ping script tool this will now open in a new windows page instead of tab.

 There are 3 settings available for that mentioned property in browser:

  • 3 = divert new window to a new tab (default)
  • 2 = allow link to open a new window
  • 1 = force new window into same tab
