In IBM i 7.4, the existing HASH function has been renamed to HASH_VALUES.
Any use of the HASH function as defined prior to IBM i 7.4 must be changed to use the renamed version of this function, HASH_VALUES.
See the IBM i 7.4 Memorandum To Users (MTU) for details about this and other behavior changes: IBM i 7.4 MTU

The new HASH built-in functions are:

  • HASH_MD5, HASH_SHA1, HASH_SHA256, and HASH_SHA512
  • HASH is a synonym for HASH_MD5, if only one argument is passed
  • Choose your hash function based upon algorithm or result size

See the SQL Reference for function details: HASH functions
