IBM Cloud Pak System - Unable to apply pattern type updates to System Monitoring Shared Service instances

Troubleshooting


Problem

Applying pattern type updates to a deployed System Monitoring Shared Service instance using the "Check for Updates" feature fails.

   
 

Symptom

An error is displayed in the History section of the deployed instance:

When logged into the ITM-Remote-TEMS virtual machine an error is found in the console.log.0

Resolving The Problem

Updating existing System Monitoring Shared Service instances in IBM Cloud Pak System is NOT supported.   
To address the issue, the shared service instance should be deleted and redeployed at the newer version.
