Abstract
From the Maximo Support Desk - Work Order Fields That Populate or Update Reservations' Date Fields
Body
If you view a current, existing reservation, it is beneficial to know the cause and effect of certain cascading updates...
A Maximo User recently inquired about the Add/Modify Reservations dialog. Specifically, the question was what would happen to the Reservation if the Required Date and/or Scheduled Start field on the Work Order gets updated. Here is a summary of what happens in this scenario...
Required Date: this field is populated from the Work Order value in the Required Date on the Materials tab; the Required Date value on the Work Order Materials tab is initially populated from the value in the Work Order Scheduled Start by default if BOTH Target Start and Scheduled Start values are present. In other words, if the Work Order has both Target Start and Scheduled Start values, then the Required Date will use the Scheduled Start value from the Work Order.
-If there is ONLY a Target Start value, then this value will populate the Required Date field on the reservation.
-If the Work Order / Materials / Required Date field is updated, then the Required Date field on the Add/Modify Reservations will get updated
-If the Work Order Scheduled Start field is updated, then it will NOT update the Required Date, and subsequently will not update the reservation/Required Date field
Hopefully this will clarify your observations in the Add/Modify Reservations dialog.
