Troubleshooting
Problem
You might be unable to upgrade to IBM Spectrum Control V5.3.5.0. This problem occurs when the database schema is being updated during the upgrade process. In this case, the following error will be displayed:
BPCIN0108E An error occurred during the upgrade of the Database repository. Review the log files for an explanation of the error.
Reviewing the traceTPCInstall.log, it contains this error:
INS2070E: SQL Error encountered during repository creation.
INS2070E: SQL Error encountered during repository creation.

Environment
The log files are contained in the following directory: sc_installation_dir\TPC\logs
- For Windows, the default location is C:\Program Files\IBM\TPC\logs
- For AIX and Linux, the default location is /opt/IBM/TPC/logs
Resolving The Problem
If you haven't yet upgraded to IBM Spectrum Control V5.3.5.0, it is strongly recommended to wait for IBM to provide a fix in V5.3.5.1 before upgrading.
If you've already upgraded and encountered this problem, contact IBM Support for recovery options and additional help before attempting another upgrade.
