Troubleshooting
Problem
Avoid using any features that are deprecated because they might be removed from the product in a future release. Also, before you upgrade to a new version of the product, check whether you or your apps rely on any features that were removed from the product or are newly deprecated. Generally, a replacement alternative or action is suggested for each deprecated or removed feature. However, because each IBM Business Automation Workflow documentation version contains a topic that summarizes the deprecations and removals only for that version, it is not easy to identify which features are currently deprecated or removed.
Symptom
Information about deprecations and removals is spread across the following documentation versions:
- Deprecated and removed features (24)
- Deprecated and removed features (23)
- Deprecated and removed features (22)
- Deprecated and removed features (20 - 21)
- Deprecated and removed features (18 - 19)
- Deprecated and removed features (V8.6)
- Deprecated and removed features (V8.5.7)
- Deprecated and removed features (V8.5.6)
- Deprecated and removed features (V8.5.5)
- Deprecated and removed features (V8.5)
Information about features that were deprecated or removed in older product releases that are no longer supported are listed in Deprecations and removals archived information.
Resolving The Problem
The consolidated information about which features were deprecated or removed, and when (across all releases), is presented in the following categories:
- Deprecations for IBM Business Automation Workflow or IBM Business Process Manager
- Deprecations for IBM Integration Designer
- Deprecations for Desktop Process Designer
- Removals for IBM Business Automation Workflow or IBM Business Process Manager
- Removals for IBM Integration Designer
