Question & Answer
Question
How can I have a script that stops Control Center without needing to supply a user ID and a password.
Answer
Add the following to engine.properties through the Web Console > System Configuration
ALLOW_STOP_ENGINE_NP=true
# Specifies whether or not Control Center can be shutdown with the "no password" -np option (i.e. stopEngine.bat|sh -np).
# true = allow shutdown without prompting the user for a userid/password (i.e. stopEngine.bat|sh -np). Default is true.
# false = do not allow stopEngine.bat|sh -np
##########
# DEFAULT_STOP_ENGINE_NP_USERID=xxxxxx
# Specifies the user id that will be used to shutdown the engine when "stopEngine.bat|sh -np" is issued
# where: xxxxxx = a valid Control Center user id
These need to be added in XML style like the other existing values.
You will need to recycle Control Center after making the changes.
