Troubleshooting
Problem
After SSL has been enabled in the gateway Apache web server, users are unable to run reports with multiple datasource connections.
When selecting a connection in the prompt and clicking OK the following message is shown:
'The IBM Cognos gateway is unable to connect to the IBM Cognos BI server'
The same error message is shown when changing a datasource signon.
Symptom
The following messages are logged in the gateway logfile gwmod2_gw2.log after enabling Cognos gateway trace using cgi-bin/cognoscgi.conf file:
CAM-CRP-0016 Unable to process the configuration data in the cryptographic engine.
CAM-CRP-0250 A CCL error occurred. Details: Error occurred whem formatting with the message file CAM_Crypto.
Cannot encrypt password. Unable to initialize crypto.
Cause
The web server is unable to read files in the Cognos gateway installation because the process does not have sufficient permissions.
Resolving The Problem
Grant read, write, and execute permissions on the gateway installation files to the account used to start the web server.
