Abstract
ITM Agent Insights: IBM Infrastructure Management Capacity Planner Reports for VMware are not working
Body
In this blog I will give an example of an error when Capacity Planner Reports are failing.
Are you receiving the following error in your cogserver.log?
An error occurred while performing operation 'sqlPrepareWithOptions' status='-201'. UDA-SQL-0196 The table or view "CFG_VIRTUAL_MACHINE" was not found in the dictionary. UDA-SQL-0196 The table or view "ANL_WORKING_SET_V" was not found in the dictionary.
ANL_INVENTORY_V is a database view so it can be found under 'Views' node in db2cc. One can browse through the DB2 client to do this check (i.e. DB2 -> Control Center -> All Databases -> TADFDCDB -> Views). Also make sure the database user (i.e. db2inst1) has required privileges to view data (i.e. run SQL commands like SELECT etc.) on Capacity Planner database (i.e. TADFDCDB) in the DB2 environment.
If the above checks are fine, check the TADFDCDB data source connection in TCR [Common Reporting -> Launch -> IBM Cognos Administration -> Configuration -> Data Source Connections -> TADFDC_REPORTING_DS, i.e. data source name -> TADFDC_REPORTING_DS, i.e. connection name -> Actions -> Test the connection -> Test ], to ensure that connection is succeeded.
Also, refer to the 'IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Virtual Environments Dashboard, Reporting, and Capacity Planning' Users Guide for details on loading configuration data in Capacity Planner environment, which will help to populate data for Capacity Planner.
