Tuning of TEMS at 6.3 for high work loads.
Body
Tuning of TEMS at 6.3 for high work loads
After using the tuning guide in 6.3 FP02 which is located here:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSTFXA_6.3.0.2/com.ibm.itm.doc_6.3fp2/install/ms_tune_one.htm
It was found for a system with a large number of situations that were forwarding all events to Omnibus that the following values also had to be set in the TEMS config file.
This was set at the HUB and all RTEMS.
In the TEMS config file set the following values:
MAX_CTIRA_RECURSIVE_LOCKS=180
KDEP_SERVICETHREADS=32
KDS_KPXNMTHR=100
The parameters are set in the following files according to operating system:
Windows
ITM_HOME/cms/KBBENV
For example: C:\IBM\ITM\cms\KBBENV
Linux UNIX
ITM_HOME/config/tems_hostname_ms_tems_name.config
For example: /opt/IBM/ITM/config/TEMS234_ms_labtems.config
This cured issues where the TEMS hung, basically due to the work load and there not being enough service threads.
*********************IMPORTANT UPDATE********************************************
Please note that KDEP_SERVICETHREADS can now be set to 63 rather than just 32.
Have seen it been used at 63 as early as 6.3 FP02 to allow more threads for SOAP requests.
