Is Integrated Virtualization Manager (IVM) supported at VIOS 2.2.6.x and 3.1.x.x ? . If "No" what would be my alternatives ?
Answer
1. Is IVM Supported on 3.1.x.x ?
Answer : No , IVM is not supported on VIOS 3.1 and its been completely removed at this level . Same can be found at V3.1 Offerings page listed below.
2. Is IVM Supported on 2.2.6.x ?
Answer : As we all know VIOS 2.2.6.x remains the only supported VIOS at 2.2 level till Sept 2020 , but IVM is no longer supported in any VIOS at Level 2.2 since June 15, 2019 . Same can be found in V2.2 Offerings page listed below.
3. What are my alternatives for IVM ?
Answer : Your sales team will have to get in touch with IBM sales for the best alternatives based on your business needs . Some of the offerings for Power Servers Management are "HMC" , "Virtual HMC(vHMC)" , "PowerVM NovaLink" . Check below links for details of these products.
