OpenPages: Moving Db2 database objects to a new database when a backup and restore cannot be performed

Summary

It is not always possible to use a backup and restore strategy to move a Db2 database between OpenPages environments. Db2 has several tools and techniques that can be leveraged to move a database’s content between systems. Namely, the Db2 utilities; Export, Import, db2move, db2look, Load, and Load Cursor is what’s available. This documentation walks through an example of moving the required database contently by using sample scripts. The actual methods and utilities you use will differ slightly to accommodate for your environment and requirements. The necessary steps, objects moved, and general requirements are pointed out throughout the example.

The scripts referenced in the example can be downloaded with the understanding that they are only sample scripts and does not in any way represent supported software.
