Question & Answer
Question
Why is Web GUI AEL page blank when using Firefox or Chrome?
Answer
Active Event List (AEL) is a Java applet.
When opening AEL, the browser has to download the Java applet from the server before it can be executed and to get the events displayed on the screen.

According to Java website:
Firefox no longer offers a version which supports NPAPI, the technology required to run Java applets.
The 64 bit version of Firefox has never supported NPAPI, and Firefox version 52 ESR is the last release to support the technology.
Google's Chrome version 45 and above have dropped support for NPAPI, and therefore Java Plugin does not work on these browsers anymore.

As alternative, use Internet Explorer or opt for Event Viewer which is Java applet-free.
