No new Work Orders are generated in the Preventive Maintenance Application if the Route is having an Inactive Job Plan

Troubleshooting

Problem

Steps followed to reproduce the issue:
(A) Pre-requisites
1) Create an Asset:
(a) Name: ASSET1; Description: JOB PLAN TEST, PM, ROUTES AND ASSETS; Change Status to "Active or Operating".
2) Create Job Plans:
(a) Name: JP1; Description: JOB PLAN TEST, PM, ROUTES AND ASSETS; Change Status to "Active".
(b) Name: JP2; Description: JOB PLAN TEST, PM, ROUTES AND ASSETS;
   Add a new Job Plan Task; Add a new Task under Labor,
   Select Organization: EAGLENA, Labor: KAZMIER; Change Status to "Active".
(c) Name: JP3; Description: JOB PLAN TEST, PM, ROUTES AND ASSETS;
   Add a new Job Plan Task; Add a new Task under Labor,
   Select Organization: EAGLENA, Labor: KELLER; Change Status to "Active".
(d) Name: JP4; Description: JOB PLAN TEST, PM, ROUTES AND ASSETS;
   Add a new Job Plan Task; Add a new Task under Labor,
   Select Organization: EAGLENA, Labor: KELLY; Change Status to "Inactive".
3) Create Routes:
(a) Go to Routes Application-> Create a Route; Name: RT; Description: JOB PLAN TEST, PM, ROUTES AND ASSETS; Select Child Work Orders under the option-"When this Route is applied to a Work Order, the Route Stops will become:".
(b) In the Route Stops; Add 3 new Rows with details as -
Asset: ASSET1, Job Plan: JP1;
Asset: ASSET1; Job Plan: JP2;
Asset: ASSET1; Job Plan: JP3;
4) Create Preventive Maintenance:
(a) Name: PM; Description: JOB PLAN TEST, PM, ROUTES AND ASSETS; Select Asset: Asset: ASSET1, Route: RT; Change Status to "Active".

(B) Testing
1) In the Preventive Maintenance Application; Record: PM; Under More Actions -> Select Generate Work Orders; Clear "Use Frequency Criteria" checkbox, click OK.
2) Observe 4 Work Orders get created. 1 Parent and 3 Child Work Orders(1 Child WO for each Job Plan).

3) Further to test, In the Routes Application; Select the Route: RT; Add an "Inactive" Job Plan in the Route Stops with the details as Asset: ASSET1; Job Plan: JP4;
4) Save the Record, Go to Preventive Maintenance Application; Record: PM; Under More Actions -> Select Generate Work Orders; Clear "Use Frequency Criteria" checkbox, press OK.
An Error is generated:
BMXAA6199E - Job Plan JP4 is not valid, its status is not active or is not valid on this site.
And there is No new Work Order generated for this PM (No Parent or a Child WO).

Symptom

Observations:
1) Under Routes - If a Job Plan is "Inactive", it is not shown in the Select Job Plans Lookup under Routes, however you can navigate to the Job Plans Application from the lookup and select it.
2) Under Job Plans -> A revision of an Active Job Plan can be changed to the status as "Active or Cancel" only. It cannot be made "Inactive".
3) If a PM having a Route identifies to be having a Job Plan, which is in "Inactive" Status, it doesn't create any Parent WO or Child WO and cancels or rolls back the process.
And gives an error similar to:
BMXAA6199E - Job Plan JP4 is not valid, its status is not active or is not valid on this site.
4) Default Out of Box Behavior shows that it is Working as designed and Intended.

Cause

In the Out of Box PM Application, no new Work Orders are generated (Parent or a Child) if the Route is having an "Inactive" Job Plan.

Diagnosing The Problem

Verify "Job Plans" Status.

Resolving The Problem

When you use Routes in the Preventive Maintenance Application, ensure that there are no Job Plans in "Inactive" Status.
