New restrictions added in macOS Passcode settings

From 10.68, MaaS360 includes additional password restrictions in macOS MDM policy. Configure the following new passcode settings frommacOS MDM policyRestrictionsPassword.

Passcode settings Description
Grace Period for Device Unlock without Passcode in Minutes
  • Refers to maximum time limit until when the device can be unlocked without entering the passcode.
  • Supported values are immediately, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour, and 4 hours.By default, the input field is left blank.
Number of Unique Passcodes Required Before Reuse Allowed (1-50, or blank)
  • Defines the number of times after which the previously set passcode can be reused again. By default, the input field is left blank. 
  • Supported values are 1 to 50, blank.
  • If left blank, then you can reuse any of the previous passcode including the current passcode.
Reset Passcode on Next Authentication
  • If enabled, the passcode is reset when user tries to authenticate the next time.
  • By default, this setting is disabled.
  • The setting is supported on macOS 10.13 devices only.
