New Functionality in IBM Maximo for Service Providers 7.6.3.1

Question & Answer

Question

What new functionality is included in the IBM® Maximo® for Service Providers 7.6.3.1 fix pack?

Answer

Maximo for Service Providers 7.6.3.1 introduces new features that help to streamline the billing process.

Customer down payments
You can request a down payment from a customer before work begins on a work order or work package. Typically, you request a down payment when the value of the work exceeds a threshold.

When you request a down payment from a customer, a sales order is created and added as a bill line to a new customer bill. The fees and charges are also credited to the work order. For high-value work orders, you can request multiple down payments from a customer. You can also request a down payment for a quoted work order.

Associate multiple bill payers with a single customer
You can bill work order transactions to multiple bill payers for the same customer. For example, when you perform warranty or manufacturer repair work for a customer, you can bill the warranty provider or manufacturer so that you recover your costs of the completed work.

Postpone or reject billable transactions
You can postpone or reject work order transactions by specifying whether the transactions are included in the next bill, postponed to a future bill, or excluded from all bills.

Bill customers in their own currency
To enhance the billing process, bill prices can now be calculated in the currency of the customer that you are billing.

Efficiently create customer estimates
When you create customer estimates, you can define a price range for the estimate. For example, you can define a price range of $7,500 to $13,000 for the overhaul of the brake system of a particular aircraft. Price estimates now include pricing from work orders that are generated from scheduled tasks. You can also specify when customer estimates are displayed in the associated service requests.

Add fee and charge pricing rules to price schedules for work orders
You can specify fixed fees, such as incentive, management, trip, and service fees. You also can specify calculated fees by using a formula that is based on any attribute of a work order or a related record.
