New DEP enrollment Skip Items

Release Notes

Abstract

MaaS360 introduces new Skip Item panes in the Add Profile workflow of DEP (Device Enrollment Program). Administrators can now customize the enrollment process by letting users skip the Safety, Intended User, and Terms of Address panes.

Content

MaaS360 now displays the following new panes in the Skip Items section:

  • Safety - This pane is specific to iPhone 14 and 14 Pro models. This pane doesn't have any configuration options - it notifies the user about safety features on the device, with a "continue" button at the bottom.
  • Intended User - This pane is automatically skipped on ADE / DEP enrollments. The Skip Key only exists for enrollment with Apple Configurator 2. If you set up an iOS 17 device without DEP / Supervision, this pane appears after the 'Data & Privacy' pane. The pane allows a user to set up the iPhone for themselves or for a child in their family.
  • Terms Of Address - This pane is shown when selecting a language that has feminine and masculine variants of words, like Spanish.
