New currency code for Ghana

Troubleshooting


Problem

Following the ISO 4217 Amendment 139, the following new currency code is introduced in Ghana: GHS Details of this new currency code are as follows: Currency code: GHS Currency name: Ghana Cedi Fractional digit: 2 Numeric code: 936 The new currency code is effective on 01 July 2007. The currency code table on the network will be updated on 28 July 2007. Note that Ghana Cedi (GHS) will run simultaneously with Cedi (GHC) until 01 January 2008. The currency code GHC shall remain on the Swift Network until January 2009 (usual procedure). A broadcast with reference S06018 was sent in order to inform our customers.

Resolving The Problem

Please update your MERVA systems either by applying PTF UK26242 or updating the currency code table on-line by using the FLM function in MERVA.
