Network connectivity is lost to IBM InfoSphere Guardium after replacing system board

Troubleshooting

Problem

After a hardware repair such as replacing the motherboard, network connectivity is lost and the following error message occurs for each network interface when the appliance is rebooted: "rtnetlink answers: no such device"

Resolving The Problem

After replacing the system board, the MAC address will change. This causes a disparity between the actual MAC address and what is stored in the interface configuration files.

The solution is to log into the appliance from the console as user CLI and reset the network parameters by running the following commands:

    1. Re-inventory the network interfaces: store network interface inventory
    2. Reboot the system: restart system
    3. Set the IP address: store network interface ip <IP_address>
    4. store network interface mask <netmask>
    5. store network routes defaultroute <gateway_address>
    6. Reboot the system: restart system

If this does not resolve the problem, please contact Guardium Support for manual intervention.
