Problem

MaaS360 advises against deploying your Cloud Extender on a server that functions as a Domain Controller. Configuring the Cloud Extender on a Domain Controller may lead to complications, as Domain Controllers do not support local user accounts. For detailed specifications, please refer to our System Requirements page regarding User Visibility (AD), User Authentication (AD), and On-Prem Exchange Connections

Resolving The Problem

How to Check if your Cloud Extender is installed on a Domain Controller

a. Open Command Prompt on the Cloud Extender Server

b. Run command: wmic os get ProductType

c.  1 = Workstation (regular PC)

     2 = Domain Controller

     3 = Windows Server

d. It is recommended to install only on Device Type 3, Windows Server.
