Troubleshooting


Problem

Collecting data for problems with the WebSphere® Intelligent Management Service Goals (including APC, ARFM) component. Before engaging IBM support, review this information to familiarize yourself with the troubleshooting process.

Resolving The Problem

If you have already contacted support, continue with the component-specific MustGather information as directed by IBM support. Otherwise, click: MustGather: Read first for WebSphere Intelligent Management.

Service Goals specific MustGather information
  • Enable tracing on the ODR process:
    1. In the administrative console, go to TroubleShooting > Logs and Trace > dmgr_name > Change Log Level Details.
    2. Select the Runtime tab.
    3. In the Trace Specification field enter the following:

  • Enable tracing on all node agent processes.

  • Re-create the problem.
  • Run the collector tool on each profile. When you run the collector tool, it creates a JAR file with the information about that profile that it was run against, send in the JAR file that the collector tool created. If there is a message about the collector tool being deprecated you can ignore it, do not run ISADC tool, the collector tool continues after a pause in the script.
  • Send in the following:
    1. All the collector tool output files.
    2. Collect the following file from all profiles: Server names of interest are: 'node agent' and ODRs.
      ODR_profile/installedFilters/wlm/servername/target.xml
What to do next
Once all is collected from the preceding MustGather information, submit the diagnostic information to IBM support.
